Shillong, December 22: Carmel School, Sadew, Shillong has once again brought immense pride to the region by securing the Winner’s title of the East Zone at the Macmillan Budding Scientist Event 2025–2026, marking its second consecutive victory in this prestigious competition.

The event was organized by Macmillan Education India Private Limited and held on 20th December 2025 at the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati. Students from various schools across the East Zone showcased innovative scientific projects, demonstrating creativity, problem-solving skills, and a strong foundation in scientific inquiry.

The honour was secured by Mandiwat B. Lynser, May Grace Fidela Nongkhlaw, and Sannakisha Rapsang of Class VIII for their innovative IoT-based project titled “Smart Livestock Feeder.” The project impressed the judges with its practical relevance by addressing real-world agricultural challenges through smart and efficient technology.

Winning the title for two consecutive years highlights not only the students’ dedication but also the strong academic environment fostered by the school. The Principal of Carmel School appreciated the students’ hard work, perseverance, and discipline, while also acknowledging the committed guidance of the teachers.
