Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu during a swearing-in ceremony held in Chennai, marking a significant political development in the state.
The oath of office was administered by Governor R. N. Ravi in the presence of senior political leaders, party members, supporters, and invited guests.
Vijay’s rise to the top post comes after his party secured enough support to form the government following the recent Assembly elections, ending the long-standing dominance of traditional regional parties in Tamil Nadu politics.
Several ministers from the new ruling alliance were also sworn into office alongside the Chief Minister as the new administration officially assumed charge.
Following the ceremony, the new government announced its intention to focus on welfare initiatives, public services, youth development, and social welfare programmes across the state.
Large crowds gathered during the event, while visuals from the swearing-in ceremony quickly gained attention across social media platforms, with supporters celebrating what many described as a historic moment in Tamil Nadu politics.
