Shillong, May 15: The State BJP will name its candidate for the Lok Sabha by-election from Shillong seat only after the poll date was announced by the Election Commission.
This was informed by State BJP spokesperson Marïahom Kharkrang to media persons today.
“In the last election too, we had waited till the election date is announced. That is how the party functions,” he said.
So far, three political parties have announced their contenders for the by-election.
The ruling NPP has named Dr. D Rockyer L. Nonglait while the Opposition VPP has decided to field Dr. Batskhem Myrboh. The Congress has renominated former MP, Vincent H. Pala.
