Shillong, May 28: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has decided to stage a march towards the State secretariat in Shillong only after the ongoing student examinations are completed.
This was informed by VPP spokesperson Dr. Londoner Murphy Sohtun in a statement issued today.
Dr. Sohtun said the meeting of the State Executive Committee of the party which met on May 25 decided to wait for completion of the student examinations before holding the march so that academic activities “remain uninterrupted”.

He also said that the decision was taken following “requests from students and wellwishers”.
“The party after careful consideration felt that the interest and future of the students must be given priority,” Dr. Sohtun said.
Recently, the VPP had said that it would lead a massive march to the secretariat to draw the attention of the State government to the various burning issues of the State.
