Shillong, October 5: The health condition of Khasi Student Union (KSU) Vice President Pynkmenlang Sanmiet has deteriorated, and the organisation is preparing to seek bail from the court to enable him to undergo medical treatment at Bethany Hospital.
This was informed by KSU CEC Environmental Secretary Shiningstar Kharbihkhiew, who warned that the government would be held responsible if anything happened to the KSU leader.
Speaking to the media, Kharbihkhiew said that before Pynkmenlang was arrested on August 19, he had undergone treatment at Civil Hospital on July 11 after suffering bleeding from his nose.
He further said that the KSU Vice President had recently undergone treatment at Bethany Hospital, where doctors advised that he should undergo surgery.

“Unfortunately, on August 19, Pynkmenlang, along with other senior leaders of the KSU, was arrested in connection with the two-wheeler rally,” Shiningstar said.
He further informed that, according to the advice of doctors at Bethany Hospital, Pynkmenlang was supposed to undergo surgery during the month of August.

“Even after the police took Pynkmenlang to Civil Hospital for a medical examination on October 3, his health condition has still not improved. The organisation wants to convey to the government that if anything happens to Pynkmenlang, the government must take responsibility,” he said.
