Shillong, Oct 23: Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) president Raymond Kharjana and general secretary Reuben Najiar were released on bail from Shillong District Jail on Friday evening.
The two leaders had been arrested on the night of August 19 following unrest linked to a two-wheeler rally organised by the KSU on the same day. They had remained in custody for more than 60 days.
KSU members gathered outside the District Jail to receive the two leaders with a warm and emotional welcome following their release.
