SHILLONG, NOV 6: Despite Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh’s clarification that the state government could no longer halt the Shillong Ropeway Project, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) Against Shillong Ropeway Project, Green Tech Foundation (GTF) and local residents continued their strong opposition by staging a sit-in protest on Friday.
The protest was held in front of the Kiang Nongbah Monument, opposite Civil Hospital, Shillong.
During the protest, JAC and GTF leaders displayed placards carrying messages opposing the ropeway project and strongly condemning the state government’s decision to proceed with it.
