Shillong, May 15: The Dhar family, one of the richest and politically influential family in Meghalaya has diversified its business empire.
Today, the family has officially opened a plywood factory at Narbong in the industrial estate of Byrnihat.
Dhar Ply which is owned by former Umroi MLA, Ngaitlang Dhar was declared open in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and his two deputies – Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar.

Sniawbhalang is the younger brother of Ngaitlang.
Speaking on the occasion, Sangma and Tynsong praised Ngaitlang Dhar for the new venture which would not only add to their business activities but also provide job opportunities for local youth.
It may be noted that the Dhar family operates a large road construction company in the State.
