Shillong, May 10: West Shillong MLA and former president of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) yesterday attended the election of new office bearers of the students’ body for the new term (2026-2029).
Lyngdoh who also spoke at the gathering urged the new office bearers to work hard with a sense of responsibility to serve the society especially the indigenous student community.
It may be noted that Lyngdoh had served as president of the KSU from 1994 to 2002.
During the programme, Lyngdoh handed over to the KSU the lyrics of the English version of the popular Khasi song ‘Ri Lum’ which he composed in 1997.
The lyrics of English version titled ‘Highlands’ were written by him in 2026.
