Shillong, May 15: The Meghalaya unit of the BJP organised a prayer meeting in memory of church leaders Revered Vumthang Sitlhou, Reverend Kaigoulun Lhouvum and Pastor Paogoulen Sitlhou, who were killed amid the ongoing violence in Manipur.
The programme was held under the guidance of State BJP President Rikman G Momin, where party members prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls.
The prayer service was led by State BJP Vice President Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit, who highlighted the teachings of Jesus Christ on love and forgiveness, saying these values remain vital in a world increasingly affected by hatred, violence and revenge.

Addressing the gathering, BJP Chief Spokesperson Marïahom Kharkrang appealed to party members to continue praying for the people of Manipur who are facing hardships due to the ongoing unrest in the state.
Condemning the killings, Kharkrang said Meghalaya continues to remain a symbol of communal harmony and stressed the need to protect peace at all costs. He also encouraged people to understand and respect different cultures and traditions by participating in one another’s festivals.
BJP leader Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait described the killings as a “crime against humanity” and expressed hope that those responsible for the incident would soon be arrested and brought to justice. She also prayed for peace and normalcy to return to Manipur at the earliest.
