Shillong, Apr 29: After the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi in the case related to the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, other accused in the case are also seeking bail.

It may be mentioned that Sonam got bail two days back from the court of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Judicial) of East Khasi Hills.

The bail granted to her was because the police did follow the legal procedure of informing her the reason for the arrest when they took her into custody in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh on June 9, 2025. There were also other legal lapses in the police records related to the case which the court found.

Another accused in the case Raj Singh Kushwaha has also moved the bail application and the court hearing on his bail plea was held today.

Kushwaha was represented by Phuyosa Yobin, the lawyer who took up the case for Sonam.

According to Yobin, since the prime accused (Sonam) has been granted bail, the same pararity should be extended to Kushwaha also.

Yobin also informed that three others who were jailed in connection with the case – Akash Rajput, Vishal Chauhan and Anand Kurmi – have also approached him for moving their bail applications before the court.
