Shillong, July 22: In an effort to further strengthen and enhance the quality of education in line with the demands of the modern era, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Silchar Region, on Wednesday inaugurated the 13th  Regional Principals’ Conference, a three-day event being held at La Nicholas Resort near Umiam Lake in Ri Bhoi district.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Anurag Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Regional Office, Silchar, in the presence of Shri Satyaveer Singh, Assistant Commissioner, KVS RO Silchar; K. Alung Khumba, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya NEHU and In-charge of the Shillong Cluster; M. B. Chettri, Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya Laitkor Peak; along with principals and teachers from various Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

The dignitaries from the KVS Silchar Region were accorded a warm traditional welcome with bouquets, gamochas, and colourful cultural performances showcasing the rich heritage, traditions, and cultural diversity of the northeastern states of India.
The 13th Regional Principals’ Conference brings together representatives from four northeastern states—Mizoram, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Assam. A total of 31 principals are participating in the three-day conference, where they will deliberate on a wide range of academic and administrative issues.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anurag Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, KVS RO Silchar, said that the primary objective of the conference is to deliberate on key areas such as school administration, academic development, Bharat Scouts and Guides, financial management, promotion of the Hindi language alongside regional languages, and other challenges related to improving the quality of education and ensuring students receive education that meets contemporary standards.
