NONGPOH, NOV 3: A JCB excavator overturned and plunged into a gorge along a steep road at Mawlein Mawkhan on Monday evening, with the driver narrowly escaping injury.
The incident occurred when the excavator, bearing registration number ML 05Y 8821, was heading towards the Umsning area and suddenly overturned into the gorge.
Following the incident, police from Umiam rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation. Efforts were also made to retrieve the excavator, briefly causing traffic congestion along the road during the recovery operation.
