Shillong, April 16: Meghalaya will join the rest of the country for the conduct of Census 2027, the largest exercise where enumerators will carry out door-to-door visit to collect the required details from households.

According to State Nodal Officer for Census, Dr. Pooja Pandey, the upcoming census will be conducted through digital means.

In all districts of Meghalaya, house listing and housing census will begin on May 16 and conclude on June 14.

The people will also have the option of self-enumeration from May 1 to May 15.

While requesting the people of the State to cooperate with the census officials who will be visiting the households to collect the required information for the census, Dr. Pandey said, “People’s participation is vital for the planning and formulation of policies and effective public administration for the Central government and State government.”
