Shillong, May 25: The mortal remains of late Kresitha G. Momin arrived in Delhi on Sunday and are scheduled to be flown to Guwahati later in the evening. From there, the body will be transported by road to her native place for the final rites.

At the Delhi airport cargo terminal, officials and staff of Meghalaya House, Delhi, paid their last respects to the deceased. Floral tributes were also offered on behalf of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.

Kresitha G. Momin, a native of Meghalaya, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest on May 15 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dubai. She passed away on May 21 during treatment.

She was known for her academic and musical achievements and had been residing in Dubai in connection with her professional work prior to her demise.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma expressed deep sorrow over her passing and extended condolences to the bereaved family.

The mortal remains are expected to reach Guwahati before being taken to Rongjeng in East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, where family members, relatives, and well-wishers will gather to pay their final respects.
