Operation Sindoor Turns 1: PM Modi Changes DP, Sends Strong Message Against Terrorism

Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to India’s armed forces on the first anniversary of “Operation Sindoor,” describing the mission as a symbol of the country’s determination against terrorism and a reflection of the military’s courage and precision.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister said the operation demonstrated India’s “firm response against terrorism” and praised the professionalism, preparedness and coordination shown by the armed forces during the mission. He also stated that the operation highlighted the country’s growing self-reliance in the defence sector and reaffirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding national security.

Referring to the attack in Pahalgam, Modi said the armed forces had given a “fitting response” to those responsible and noted that the entire nation salutes the bravery and sacrifice of the security personnel involved.

The Prime Minister further urged citizens to honour the armed forces by changing their display pictures on social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, to a specially released “Operation Sindoor” image featuring the Indian flag.

“A year later, we remain steadfast in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem,” Modi said in his message, while reiterating the government’s continued support for the armed forces and national security initiatives.
