Shillong, Jul 19: Due to the FIFA World Cup final match which will be held in the early hours of July 20, the Meghalaya government has declared a holiday on the same day for all educational instititions in the State.
The Directorate of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE) in a notification issued today stated that all government colleges, government polytechnics, the Shillong Government College of Engineering, and Captain Williamson Sangma State University would remain closed on July 20.
Meanwhile, the Captain Williamson Sangma State University, Tura has deferred its under graduate and post graduate examinations scheduled for July 20. The examinations will now be held on July 31.
Similarly, the Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) has declared July 20 as a holiday for all government, government aided and private schools across Meghalaya.
