Tura, May 23: The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers Association (AGHSSASTA-CB) on Friday honoured Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma for his commitment towards strengthening the education sector and addressing the concerns of SSA teachers in the state.
The programme was held at Matchakolgre LP School Playground in Tura, witnessed the launch of several key initiatives, including the MBOSE E-Office Management System, Accounting System, and the Chief Minister’s Leadership in Education and Development (CM LEAD) Fellowship aimed at improving governance and educational outcomes across Meghalaya.
The Chief Minister also flagged off 27 vehicles to enhance field-level monitoring and improve mobility of education officials across districts.

Addressing the gathering, Conrad Sangma reiterated that education remains one of the government’s top priorities and stressed the need to focus on quality learning, conceptual understanding, and better learning outcomes for students.
He acknowledged the long-standing issues faced by SSA teachers and assured continued government support in resolving their concerns. He also urged teachers to work with renewed dedication towards improving every child’s learning experience.
The Chief Minister further called for stronger grassroots monitoring, surprise school inspections, and greater attention to individual student development to ensure meaningful reforms in the education sector.
