Nongpoh, Apr 30: The Ri-Bhoi Police has asked members of the public to stop sharing of the video of an infant who was buried alive and later rescued in a village in Ri-Bhoi District.

Stating that the video has been widely circulated on various social media platforms, the police appealed to the public to stop sharing, forwarding or publishing the video or photo as any act of revealing the identity of a child in need of care or protection is strictly prohibited under the law.

Police also said that the case related to the burying of the baby has been registered at Nongpoh Women Police Station and investigation is ongoing.
