Shillong, May 3: To mark the third anniversary of the start of the Manipur violence, a group of Manipuri elders in Shillong today organised a discussion on ways to restore lasting peace.

The talk titled “Manipur and Meitei: The Road Ahead” was held at Phunga Heritage in Laitumkhrah. It was organised by Manipuri Elders’ Consortium Shillong (MECS).

The event was attended by Meitei community members residing in Shillong.

A one-minute silence was also observed and candles were lit as a mark of respect to the lives who were lost since the Manipur conflict between Meitei and Kuki communities began on May 3, 2023.
