Shillong, Aug 5: The draft electoral roll for all the 60 Assembly constituencies of Meghalaya was released today by the office of the State’s Chief Electoral Officer under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
As per the draft electoral roll, Meghalaya has 23,49,645 electors of which 10,53,039 are males and 11,16,199 are females. There are also five “third gender” electors.
Out of the total 23,49,645 electors in the draft electoral roll, 7,75,665 (33.01 per cent) have been mapped as ‘self’ with their own electoral records linked to the SIR 2005 database.
11,70,792 (49.83 per cent) have been mapped as ‘progeny’ with their records linked to electoral records of their parents or grandparents available in SIR 2005 database.
2,22,786 (9.48 per cent) could not be linked with the SIR 2005 records and have been categorised under the ‘no mapping’ category. These cases will undergo detailed verification during the phase of issuing of notice and disposal of claim and objection.
During the enumeration phase, 1,80,402 electors (7.68 per cent) were identified under the Absent, Shifted, Deceased, Duplicate (ASDD) category.
Of these, 81,490 (3.47 per cent) were identified as deceased, 45,011 (1.92 per cent) as untraceable or absent, 42,532 (1.81 per cent) as permanently shifted, 4668 (0.20 per cent) as rejecting the enumeration form, and 6701 (0.29 per cent) as already enrolled (duplicate).
