Shillong, Jul 8: A local singing sensation from Meghalaya, Kitkupar Nongsiej will depart for the United States of America on July 10 to represent Meghalaya and India at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2026 which will be held from July 13 to 21 at Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hailing from Kynshi village in Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Kitkupar is the winner of ‘Ka Sur Kynud – Season 3’ which is the flagship singing contest organised by Don Bosco Media Network.

As part of its commitment to discovering, nurturing and promoting the talents of young people from North East India, the Don Bosco Media Network has taken the initiative to sponsor and support its winners in participating in prestigious international competitions.
This commitment has already borne fruit. Chevinia Lyngdoh Mawnai, the winner of ‘Ka Sur Kynud – Season 1’, represented India at the UK Vocal Star Competition held in the United Kingdom, and emerged as the champion.
