Conrad Sangma Congratulates Tipra Motha on TTAADC Poll Victory

Shillong, April 17: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has congratulated Pradyot Manikya Debbarma and the Tipra Motha Party after their huge victory in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

The Tipra Motha Party secured a dominant mandate, winning 24 out of 28 seats as per official results declared on April 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the remaining four seats, while the CPI(M) and Congress failed to make a significant impact in the council elections.

Counting of votes began at 8 AM across 17 locations under tight security arrangements. Following standard procedure, VVPAT slips were counted first, followed by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) after a short interval.

In a social media message, Sangma termed the outcome a significant moment for the region, stating that it reflects the rising voice of tribal communities and strengthens the vision of “One North East.” He added that the result could pave the way for stronger cooperation and development across northeastern states.
