Shillong, May 18: The Oil Industry in Meghalaya has assured the public that the supply of essential petroleum products, including Petrol, Diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), remains normal and uninterrupted across the state.
According to a statement issued by the State Level Coordinator for Oil Industry, Meghalaya-cum-Manager (LPG-Sales), Shillong Area of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, the availability of fuel through Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies — Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited — continues to remain stable and adequate throughout Meghalaya.

Officials informed that the entire fuel supply chain, including terminals, depots and retail outlets, is functioning efficiently without any disruption. Fuel stocks are being regularly monitored while replenishment activities are continuing smoothly across all locations in the state.
The Oil Industry also stated that LPG supplies to domestic consumers are being prioritised and remain normal across Meghalaya. Authorities said the situation is being closely monitored to ensure uninterrupted delivery of LPG to consumers.
The statement further noted that oil companies are maintaining close coordination on logistics, stock movement and retail operations to ensure seamless fuel availability across the region.
Reassuring citizens, the Oil Industry said there is no cause for concern and appealed to the public to avoid panic buying. Consumers were also advised to rely only on official communications issued by Oil Marketing Companies for verified information regarding fuel availability.
