Shillong, Aug 14: Two IPS officers from Meghalaya and two Havildar rank officers – one from the State Police and one from the State Civil Defence – have been conferred the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of the 80th Independence Day of India.

The IPS officers conferred with the medal are Abraham T. Sangma (Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills) and Herbert G. Lyngdoh (Commandant, 1st MLP Battalion).
The Havaldar rank officers who were conferred with the medal are Kmenlang Suting of the Meghalaya Police and Lathindro D. Sangma of Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards.
