Shillong, June 15: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, along with senior government officials, today visited Umroi Airport to accord a warm welcome to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Jairam Gadkari, who arrived at the airport this morning.
The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister warmly received the Union Minister and honoured him with traditional Ryndia shawls and bouquets as a mark of respect and welcome.
It may be recalled that Gadkari’s visit to Shillong is aimed at inaugurating the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition (NEIINFRA) 2026, which will be held at the Lariti International Centre.

The summit is expected to witness the participation of experts, policymakers, government representatives, and stakeholders from various sectors who will engage in discussions and deliberations on strategies, opportunities, and initiatives to accelerate infrastructure development and economic growth across the Northeastern states of India.
