Kharjahrin Quits As EM Of KHADC

Shillong, Jun 19: KHADC Executive Member in charge of Council Buildings, Council Assets and Building By-Laws, Pynkhrawbok Kharjahrin has resigned from his post.

His resignation was officially accepted by the Governor of Meghalaya as per the notification issued today.

According to sources, Kharjahrin had resigned from his post as Executive Member about two weeks back. The resignation reduced the strength of the Executive Committee to seven.

Sources also said that he had informed the leadership of his party, the Voice of the People Party (VPP) of his desire to relinquish the post due to his heavy responsibilities in his Mawkyrwat constituency.

Kharjahrin is the second to resign from the VPP-led Executive Committee in KHADC since it took over power in February 2025.

Earlier, Shemborlang Rynjah had resigned from his post as Chief Executive Member of KHADC in September 2025 citing health issues.

The VPP has 17 MDCs in the House of 30. One of them is a nominated member.
