Meghalaya Sports Minister Inspects Ongoing Byrnihat Football Stadium Project

Shillong, May 15: Meghalaya Sports Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Thursday inspected the ongoing construction of the Byrnihat Sports Association (BSA) Football Stadium at Byrnihat along with Jirang MLA Sosthenes Sohtun.

During the inspection, the Jirang MLA expressed gratitude to the Sports Minister for his continued support towards the development of sports infrastructure in the area. He also urged the minister to extend further assistance for the overall improvement and development of the stadium for the benefit of local players, youth and residents.

According to Sohtun, the construction work of the stadium is nearing completion. However, both leaders reviewed the remaining work and discussed the need for additional improvements to ensure better facilities and long-term maintenance of the stadium.

The proposed improvements include development of a proper drainage system, fencing around the stadium and proper leveling of the ground.

The MLA stated that the initiative is aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure in the region and creating better opportunities for young athletes and sports enthusiasts in the area.
