Sonapur, September 17: Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), Sonapur, on Wednesday held its 15th Convocation, conferring degrees and honours on 1,129 students who successfully completed their studies in various disciplines and academic programmes at the university.
The convocation was held at the university’s Tapesia Campus in the presence of Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Governor of Assam, who attended as the chief guest. Also present were Fr. Sebastian Mathew, Chancellor of ADBU, other dignitaries, faculty members, students and their parents.
Of the 1,129 students honoured after completing their respective programmes, 397 were graduates, 632 were postgraduates, 60 completed diploma programmes in various disciplines, and 40 were awarded PhD degrees.
ADBU has continued to expand over the years and also attracts students from outside India. Students from 18 countries across the world are currently pursuing their studies at ADBU through DBU Global.

Addressing the graduating students, Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya urged them to make learning a lifelong pursuit and to strive for excellence, maintain good values and become positive role models in society.
He further urged the students to consider the convocation not as the end of their education but as the beginning of a new phase of learning, encouraging them to continue seeking knowledge and wisdom throughout their lives.

He also called upon the graduates to utilise their skills and abilities to contribute to the country’s development and progress, promote the well-being of society and help build a stronger India.
