Shillong, May 5: The State government has appointed MCS officer H Kerwood Thabah as the new Secretary of Meghalaya Police Accountability Commission.

Thabah will also continue in his post as Joint Secretary, Home (Police & Political) Department.

The Meghalaya Police Accountability Commission was set up to investigate any allegation of misconduct or human rights violation by police personnel.

The commission is headed by former IAS officer Peter W. Ingty.

Another retired IAS officer Variana Rica Syiem is the member of the commission.
