Shillong Jul 14: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today inspected a number of infrastructure projects under construction in New Shillong Township.
During the inspection, Sangma visited the new Secretariat Complex, Unity Mall, the Sports Complex at Umsawli, and other ongoing projects.
At the New Secretariat Complex, Sangma reviewed the pace of construction and emphasised on the importance of quality work while ensuring timely completion. Once completed, the new Secretariat building will house all government departments under one roof.
The Chief Minister also inspected the progress of the work for construction of the Unity Mall, a landmark project dedicated for Meghalaya’s artisans, weavers, entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and local producers to showcase and market their products.
Reviewing the Sports Complex at Umsawli, Sangma informed that the complex would provide modern training and facilities to nurture local sporting talents.
He was also briefed on the status of other ongoing infrastructure projects across the New Shillong Township.

Speaking during the visit, Sangma said that the projects being developed at the township “are laying the foundation for Meghalaya’s future.
