Shillong, Jul 13: Three of the accused in the vandalism at the homestay in Shillong’s Risa Colony locality have been arrested.
Vikash Singh, Akash Singh and Avinash Singh of Uttar Pradesh were apprehended by Alipurduar police in West Bengal on July 12 following request by Meghalaya police.
Along with them,three minors aged around 17 years were also detained by the Alipurduar police.
A team from Meghalaya police immediately went to Alipurduar and arrested the trio. They were also brought to Shillong on the same day.

Today, the three accused were produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Shillong which granted them bail as the offences charged against them are bailable.
The three minors who were together with the accused were produced before the juvenile court in Shillong.
Although the accused were given bail, the police case against them will proceed. Police have booked them under Sections 351 (3) 324 (3) and 3 (5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The case against the three Uttar Pradesh men was registered following FIR lodged by the owner of Oakwood, a homestay located at Risa Colony who alleged various acts of vandalism committed by them at the homestay.
