Shillong, Aug 10: A man from Meghalaya who had been reported missing since July 15 during his train journey in Karnataka has been found and brought back to Meghalaya.
Ever since Kwis Sumer of Muktapur village in West Jaiñtia Hills District went missing, both the Meghalaya Police and Karnataka Policce besides other stakeholders worked hard with coordination to locate his whereabouts.
But what stands out is the human side of the story.
It was reported that Sumer was hassled in the train while in Karnataka and fearing for his safety, he got down and went astray. Reports said he initially hid in the nearby jungle before he found a habitation.
A Good Samaritan named Kavi Kumar of Tiptur village in Tumkur District gave Sumer shelter at his home and provided all help to him.

With the help of Kumar, Sumer established contact with his worried family members through social media.
Acting on this piece of information shared by family members, the Meghalaya Police with the help of Karnataka Police were able to trace and locate Sumer.
The Meghalaya government too played a great role from the beginning. After locating him, the government arranged for his return to the State.
Sumer today reached Shillong where he was welcomed by his family members and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. On the same day, he took his journey back home to Muktapur.
