Nongpoh, June 10: In a major setback to the Congress party in Ri Bhoi District, A senior and top leader of Congress party from Ri-Bhoi, Rocky Marwein has tendered his resignation from the posts of President of the Ri Bhoi District Congress Committee and also as the president of the Umsning Block Congress Committee (UBCC).
In his resignation letter addressed to the President of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, Marwein stated that the decision was taken after careful consideration of personal reasons. He clarified that his resignation should not be interpreted as dissatisfaction with the party, its leadership, or its policies.

Expressing gratitude to the Indian National Congress (INC), he said he remains thankful for the trust, opportunities, and responsibilities entrusted to him during his tenure. He also conveyed his appreciation to the party leadership, office bearers, and workers for their support, guidance, and cooperation over the years.
The outgoing leader had also wished the party success in its future endeavors.
He further requested the party to accept his resignation and relieve him of all responsibilities attached to the posts of President of the Ri-Bhoi District Congress Committee and Umsning Block Congress Committee.
