Meghalaya is among the 26 states that already made budgetary provisions for implementation of GRAM-G.

GRAM-G replaces the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Act (NREGA). It offers 125 days of guaranteed wage employment per rural household. The scheme will be officially rolled out on July 1.

Works under GRAM-G will be selected through the village committee and will be finalised by the State government on the basis of their proposals.
