Nongpoh, July 13: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Ri Bhoi district has crossed a major milestone, with election officials completing the distribution of Enumeration Forms to more than 71 per cent of eligible electors, signalling steady progress in the ongoing voter list revision exercise.
According to the Office of the District Election Officer, 1,47,985 Enumeration Forms (EFs) had been distributed across the district as of July 10, representing 71.93 per cent of the total electorate.
Among the five Assembly constituencies in the district, Mawhati has recorded the highest progress with 83.61 per cent distribution, followed closely by Nongpoh at 82.26 per cent. Umsning has achieved 71.52 per cent, while Umroi and Jirang have recorded 63.30 per cent and 58.33 per cent, respectively.

To strengthen public participation in the revision process, the District Election Officer recently held an awareness meeting with the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong Ri Bhoi District, urging traditional village leaders to mobilise eligible voters and extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) engaged in the exercise.
In a further effort to streamline the revision process, the district administration has established a dedicated SIR Help Desk at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi, to assist both BLOs and members of the public with queries and procedural issues related to the electoral roll revision.
The District Election Officer has appealed to all eligible voters to cooperate with Booth Level Officers and submit their Enumeration Forms within the prescribed timeline to ensure the preparation of an accurate and inclusive electoral roll.
