Bidders from Meghalaya invited for E-Auctions of Broken Rice

Shillong, February 13: The Government of India, through the Food Corporation of India (FCI), is releasing rice from stocks held in excess of buffer stocking norms under the Open Market Sale Scheme (Domestic) [OMSS(D)]. Rice is being offered at reserve prices of Rs. 2890/- per quintal(25% broken rice) and Rs. 3090/- per quintal (10% broken rice) (revised rate effective from 1st November 2025), on a pan-India basis, plus applicable taxes.

In order to enhance the disposal of broken rice under OMSS(D), it has been decided that bidders from Meghalaya are eligible to participate in the auctions of broken rice being conducted in the states of Punjab, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh.

FCI invites the attention of all stakeholders and prospective bidders to these ongoing e-auctions. It is hereby clarified that there are no regional restrictions on participation. Interested parties may submit their bids strictly in accordance with the prescribed auction guidelines and procedures.

Under the scheme, traders, bulk buyers, and manufacturers of rice products are eligible to participate. This measure is intended to enhance the availability and liquidity of rice across the country, particularly during the lean season, with the objective of stabilizing market prices and safeguarding consumer interests.

In view of the above, media organizations are requested to give wide publicity to this information so that it reaches all potential bidders and stakeholders of Meghalaya.

For further details regarding auction schedules, terms, and conditions, bidders may visit the official FCI website (www.fci.gov.in) or contact the FCI Regional Office, Mawlai Mawroh, Shillong or the Manager (Commercial), FCI Divisional Office, Mawlai Mawroh, Shillong.
