Shillong, Jul 15: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is continuing in Meghalaya with 89.03 per cent of the electorates covered till date.
According to the data provided by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, till today as many as 20,91,781 enumeration forms have been distributed to voters across the State out of the total number of 23 49,645 voters.
Of these enumeration forms distributed so far, 6,72,094 have been digitised which accounts to 28.60 per cent of the total electorate in the State.
In terms of distribution of enumeration forms, South West Garo Hills District topped the coverage with 99.96 per cent followed closely by West Jaiñtia Hills at 99.33 per cent and North Garo Hills at 96.62 per cent.
With regard to digitisation of enumeration forms, East Jaiñtia Hills District is leading with 48.01 per cent followed by South West Khasi Hill (46.2 per cent) and Eastern West Khasi Hills (41.36 per cent).
Interestingly, East Khasi Hills District which has the largest number of voters at 6,32,146 is lagging far behind in both distribution and digitisation of enumeration forms.
As per the latest data, only 78.60 per cent of the forms have been distributed in East Khasi Hills and only 14.08 digitised.
