Xerox Shop Handed Over by Ri Bhoi DC to Differently-Abled Youth Before Taking Charge as East Khasi Hills DC

Nongpoh, May 27: As the tenure of Abhilash Baranwal as Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District nears its end, with only a few days left before he takes charge as the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, his contributions and welfare-oriented initiatives for the people continue to gain recognition.

On Wednesday, the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner extended another humanitarian gesture by creating a livelihood opportunity for a differently-abled youth through the allotment of a Xerox shop located within the premises of the DC Office in Ri Bhoi, enabling him to become self-reliant and earn a living independently.

The beneficiary, identified as Pering Pale, is the son of Bah Will Syngkli and Kong Minabe Pale of Umpohwin.

Speaking to reporters, Pering Pale expressed immense happiness and gratitude for the opportunity provided by the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, describing it as a great blessing in his life.

He shared that despite his physical disability, he managed to complete his education up to Class X and also acquired computer skills. However, due to life’s challenges, he had never received an opportunity to secure employment.

On receiving the Xerox shop allotment, Pering Pale said he was deeply grateful for the opportunity to run the shop within the DC Office premises, attributing it to the foresight and compassionate approach of Abhilash Baranwal, who has consistently shown concern for people facing hardships in life.

He further stated that he would not remain satisfied with operating only a Xerox machine, but would continue to work hard to expand the business further as a mark of gratitude to the Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner and the other officials who helped create this opportunity for him.

Meanwhile, Abhilash Baranwal expressed happiness at being able to hand over the Xerox shop to the differently-abled youth, stating that the initiative was part of an effort to create livelihood opportunities for persons with disabilities so they could stand on their own feet.

“Even persons with disabilities need to earn a livelihood for themselves, and I firmly believe that handing over this Xerox shop will become a blessing for this young man, enabling him to support himself and his family,” Baranwal said.
