Shillong, May 18: The first ever survey to assess substance abuse in Meghalaya was formally launched today by DREAM Mission.
The pilot survey will be initially carried out in Shillong before covering the rest of the State. The survey is being conducted by DREAM Mission in partnership with Sankardev College, Shillong. The two sides had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in December 2025 for this project.
The Statistics Department of Sankardev College will spearhead the survey. The work will commence once the required ethical clearance is received.
According to DREAM Mission officials the survey is meant to collect data and insights regarding the prevalence, patterns, and impact of substance use across Meghalaya.
