Shillong, May 19: Meghalaya Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla has called on the Central government to enforce tougher regulations and stronger monitoring mechanisms to curb malpractices in NEET-UG and other examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Reacting to the recent controversies linked to national-level entrance examinations, Shylla said repeated incidents and alleged irregularities have created anxiety and uncertainty among students and parents nationwide. He stressed that immediate corrective measures are necessary to protect the integrity and credibility of the examination system.
The minister further urged authorities to ensure greater transparency and accountability in the conduct of examinations, stating that students’ futures should not be compromised due to lapses in the system.
At the same time, Shylla encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and not lose hope, assuring that steps are being taken to strengthen the fairness of future examinations.
