Monaco, May 17: Mahindra Racing gave Indian motorsport fans a proud moment after Dutch driver Nyck de Vries stormed to victory at the 2026 Monaco E-Prix on the famous streets of Monte Carlo.
The victory marked de Vries’ first win with Mahindra Racing and the fifth Formula E win of his career. More importantly, it was Mahindra Racing’s first victory in the GEN3 era of the FIA Formula E World Championship.
The Monaco E-Prix was held on May 16–17 as part of a double-header race weekend, with de Vries clinching the win for Mahindra Racing in Race 1 on Saturday, May 16.
As the Indian national anthem played during the podium ceremony, fans across social media celebrated the emotional moment, calling it a major achievement for Indian motorsport on the global stage.
Mahindra Racing continues to be one of India’s leading names in international motorsport, proudly representing the country in the all-electric Formula E championship.
