Shillong, May 27: Bihar Assembly Speaker, Dr. Prem Kumar arrived in Shillong today for a four-day official study tour.
Dr. Kumar who is leading a delegation of MLAs from Bihar and other officials of the Bihar Legislative Assembly will remain in Meghalaya till May 29 to interact with officials of the Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat to understand the functioning of House proceedings, digital initiatives, and public outreach mechanisms adopted by the State legislature.
Dr. Kumar, his wife and the delegation will also visit sites of historical and cultural importance in Shillong and Sohra.
However, the visit by the Speaker of Bihar Assembly came at a time when the Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma, Assembly Secretary Malthus Sangma and Deputy Secretary Raja Kharpuri are currently in Ottawa, Canada to attend a parliamentary seminar.
