Nongpoh, November 12: The Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal is set to organize a Three-Day Regional Agri Fair 2025-26 on the theme “Reaching the Last Mile with Agri-Revolution” at the College of Agriculture (CoA), Kyrdemkulai, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya, from 17th to 19th November, 2025, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Anupam Mishra Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal along with the Prof. Ph. Ranjit Sharma,Director, Directorate of Extension Education, CAU-Imphal and Prof. Ram Singh, Dean, CoA, Kyrdemkulai.

This mega regional event is envisioned as a convergence point for farmers, scientists, entrepreneurs, students, and development agencies, with the primary objective of bridging the gap between agricultural innovations and grassroots implementation. The fair seeks to promote knowledge exchange, technological dissemination, and farmer empowerment, thereby contributing to a sustainable and inclusive agricultural transformation in the North Eastern Hill (NEH) Region.

The Regional Agri Fair will host a series of competitions and thematic shows, including vegetable shows, flower shows, and dog shows, designed to highlight creativity, diversity, and excellence in agricultural and allied sectors. These events not only provide recognition to innovative farmers and enthusiasts but also serve as a platform to showcase the region’s unique biodiversity and farming traditions.A key attraction will be the Exhibition Pavilion, featuring stalls from research institutions, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), state development departments.

These exhibits will display cutting-edge technologies, modern farm equipment, improved seed varieties, post-harvest innovations, and success stories from progressive farmers and agri-startups. The exhibition aims to connect innovators and practitioners, fostering a spirit of collaboration and learning.

At the heart of the event lies the Farmers–Scientists Interaction Programme (Kisan Gosthi)a vital component that facilitates direct engagement between farmers and experts. These sessions will provide practical insights on crucial aspects such as agronomy, pest and disease management, horticultural practices, soil health, water-use efficiency, and climate-resilient farming systems.In addition, the fair will feature live demonstrations and awareness sessions on key national initiatives viz., Per Drop More Crop (PDMC), Oilseeds and Pulses Mission, Kisan Credit Card and Kisan Call Centre Schemes, Integrated Farming System (IFS) Model, National Beekeeping Mission, Natural and Organic Farming, Drone Didi Initiative and Polyhouse (Greenhouse) Technologies –Rural Community Development in Border Areas.

The fair will also include a Business and Investors’ Meet, designed to create linkages between Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), agri-startups, and investors. This segment will facilitate discussions on value-chain development, market access, branding, and entrepreneurship opportunities. The CAU Regional Agri Fair 2025-26 is expected to draw wide participation from farmers, students, government departments, and development agencies across the North Eastern States. The event stands as a celebration of agricultural innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity, symbolizing CAU’s dedication to transforming agriculture through science, technology, and community engagement.
